Rosé 2010 - Champagne Louis Roederer

A rather cold and late year, with a dry summer followed by a rainy August, 2010 slowly delivered some lovely crunchy, fresh and aromatic grapes, but only the south-facing vineyards or those with very little fruit reached satisfactory maturity.

A snapshot of a year, this Rosé comes from 35 small staggered plots on the warm terroirs of Cumières planted with Pinot noir, and the cooler limestone soils of Chouilly, where the Chardonnay grows. From these contrasting soils of Domaine Louis Roederer in the Vallée de la Marne (also known as the Vignoble de la Rivière) comes an original rosé, always produced as a vintage champagne. The cellar master has a special destiny in store for it, something unique in Champagne, a long, gentle infusion of the Pinot noir that will enable him to draw out its juicy, ripe character while preserving its tremendous saline freshness.

Aged for at least four years in the cellars, this is a graceful, intense and fresh Rosé Champagne unlike any other.

Tasting notes

This lovely 2010 vintage is showing itself with precision and purity. On entry to the palate, the crispness of the Pinot noirs and the zesty freshness of the Chardonnays blend seamlessly into a smooth, light and refined structure, interspersed with delicate floral and fruity notes.

This champagne possesses all the finesse of a fine Rosé!

“ Tremendous charm, orchestrated by ripe, juicy fruit fragrances, which are incorporated into a smooth and fresh texture, without any hint of heaviness. ”
Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon,
Cellar Master

Ageing potential

Our champagnes undergo an extended period of ageing to allow them to gently evolve and mature, gaining in structure and depth, whilst developing highly nuanced aromas over the years.

You may enjoy them in the purity and chalky freshness of their youth or, if you appreciate more mature champagnes, wait a few more years or even decades for their candied, spicy notes to emerge. Our champagnes have a long future ahead of them and their destiny is in your hands!
