A stormy and windy year, the season got off to a very early start and was followed by a dry and sunny summer.
The grapes were fortunately spared the damage from the heavy rain during the harvest period. The 1999 vintage gave us powerful, concentrated, generous, seductive and luscious wines, fresh on entry to the palate and followed by soft notes of fruit and sweet spice.
Tasting notes
With its notes of fresh fruit, peonies and a deliciously oaky, chocolatey quality, this 1999 is the expression of ripe and perfectly honed Pinot noir grapes, whose silky texture and freshness give the impression of an incredible sapidity! The fresh structure is followed by a long, spicy and slightly roasted finish, making this a very fine, delicious and well-structured rosé.
“ This 1999 rosé champagne is the expression of perfectly ripe Pinot Noir grapes, whose silky texture and freshness create an incredible sensation of sapidity! ”

Ageing potential
Having been carefully preserved for many long years in the complete darkness of the Louis Roederer cellars, in perfect temperature and humidity conditions, these vintage champagnes are now reaching the peak of their maturity, the very apex of their potential.
