A complicated vintage during which the grapes struggled to ripen, 1997 was marked by a cold and frosty spring with a very high threat of mildew.
However, the much better conditions in summer were followed by some exceptionally warm and sunny weather in September, which saved a year that had got off to a bad start. In the end, the harvests took place in mid-September in bright sunshine.
Tasting notes
An astonishingly smooth and instantly appealing champagne, honed by the aromatic power of the Pinot noir grape, which has stood the test of time thanks to its extraordinary freshness! Magnificent in its vitality and energy, with an endless interplay between freshness and substance, this 1997 still has a vinous quality about it, with a texture that opens on to a lovely powerful and firmly-rooted bitterness.
“ This 1997 rosé champagne is shaped by the powerful bouquet of the Pinot Noir, which has aged wonderfully well thanks to an extraordinary freshness! ”

Ageing potential
