2018 was a very hot and dry year, but also generous and... very healthy.

After an unusually wet winter, the spring was mild and stormy. The summer was particularly hot, dry, and sunny, breaking even the records set in 2003. The harvest was abundant, and the grapes were in near-perfect condition, giving us lovely, elegant, fruity wines.

Beautifully balancing its sunny nature with its terrestrial roots, it unfolds like a fine perfume, infusing the captivating, powdery texture of the Pinot noir with the lemony, saline freshness of the Chardonnay. Its concentrated, deeply enveloping character, framed by a finely grained tannic structure, carries through to a subtly iodised finish.

Cristal is an experience unlike any other, crafted in a manner that will allow it to reveal itself very gradually over time. This outsanding champagne grows more glorious with every passing year, gaining in depth, finesse and aromatic complexity. The freshness of its youth evolves progressively to reveal more candied, spicy and saline aromas along with ever more delicated and refined bubbles. It can be enjoyed in the purity and chalky freshness of its youth or can be laid down for a few more years or even decades in a cool, dark cellar, with its oranges cellophane protecting it from light, where it will continue to evolve beautifully over time.
