Shaped by a particularly dry yet cool summer, the 2008 vintage clearly falls into the category of dense and powerful ‘continental’ vintages, characterised by great concentration.
However, the unusually cool summer temperatures left their mark on this vintage, giving it an incredibly intense and saline freshness.
Tasting notes
This fine wine boasts a pretty powder-pink hue and intense aromas of fresh citrus and tangy red berries, along with subtle floral overtones.
It exudes a vibrant energy and freshness, complemented by a delicate, toasted quality. Fine bubbles accompany a juicy palate of remarkable chalky and saline freshness. Soft smoky notes and a silky mouthfeel carry through to a powerful, zesty and mineral finish.
“ After nearly 13 years resting sur lattes and four years of post-disgorgement ageing, Cristal Rosé 2008 Late Release reveals a new expression of Cristal Rosé: alongside its chalky, precise and fragrant persistence emerges a deeper texture, combined with salinity, unlocking notes of umami. ”

Ageing potential
Having been carefully preserved for many long years in the complete darkness of the Louis Roederer cellars, in perfect temperature and humidity conditions, these vintage champagnes are now reaching the peak of their maturity, the very apex of their potential.
