A sunny, continental year, 2009 will be remembered for a long time to come.
The remarkable health of the grapes and their outstanding maturity resulted in the production of dense, fruity and luscious wines. 2009 is an obvious addition to the select group of brilliant and accomplished Champagne vintages with a light, sunny character.
Originating from 10 hectares of vines growing in the clay soil of the Cumières hillsides and cultivated according to the principles of biodynamics, this ""undosed"" champagne is the translation of a fresh wine in a sunny year. It resulted from the encounter between the designer Philippe Starck, Louis Roederer CEO Frédéric Rouzaud, and cellar master Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, who came up with the idea of creating, together, this wine of the terroir, soil and climate, the perfect illustration of the alliance between Man and Nature.
Brut Nature is a wine of light, contrasts and texture, associating the intense saline freshness of its terroir with the maturity of the vintage. This champagne is a celebration of the present moment, without compromise or approximation, borne of a lovely dynamic.
Tasting notes
After 6 years ageing in the bottle, Brut Nature reveals itself in its pure state, “undosed”, in a crisp-cut style, very true to the grape.
You can enjoy it now, paired with a refined, slightly salty cuisine.
Yellow fruit and lightly toasted dried fruit and nuts, particularly hazelnuts, mixed with spicy and lemon-scented notes create a soft, tender impression on the nose. The delicate and light structure, borne by an almost creamy texture, is coupled with a saline freshness; This champagne is a spellbinding expression of sunny, juicy fruit, which lingers on the finish with a lovely bitterness and a touch of zest.

Ageing potential
Our champagnes undergo an extended period of ageing to allow them to gently evolve and mature, gaining in structure and depth, whilst developing highly nuanced aromas over the years.
You may enjoy them in the purity and chalky freshness of their youth or, if you appreciate more mature champagnes, wait a few more years or even decades for their candied, spicy notes to emerge. Our champagnes have a long future ahead of them and their destiny is in your hands!
