2018 marked a change of direction.

Due to the increased maturity levels in our Pinot noir grapes, we began to consider other vineyard plot selections from 2010 onwards. We now prefer to use cooler terroirs offering a firm tannic structure but retaining the juicy signature of La Rivière's southern slopes. This more intense rosé, originating primarily from Cumières, was an obvious choice.

With the intensity and richness of the perfectly ripened Pinot grapes, combined with a lovely freshness interwoven with scents of citrus and red fruit, this rosé has a unique vinous and gastronomic quality about it.

The broad, velvety and chalky structure is complemented by dynamic, almost tannic, bubbles, yet these remain wonderfully tasty. This is a flavoursome, full-bodied champagne that reflects the sunny nature of the year with finesse and great length.

Our champagnes undergo an extended period of ageing to allow them to gently evolve and mature, gaining in structure and depth, whilst developing highly nuanced aromas over the years.

You may enjoy them in the purity and chalky freshness of their youth or, if you appreciate more mature champagnes, wait a few more years or even decades for their candied, spicy notes to emerge. Our champagnes have a long future ahead of them and their destiny is in your hands!
