Vintage 2018 - Champagne Louis Roederer

This 2018 Vintage marks the end of an era.

Climate change and the evolution of our viticultural practices have allowed the great Verzy Pinot noir grapes (80% of this blend) to express themselves more and more each year.

Tasting notes

This vintage, a virtuoso expression of the Verzy Pinot noir, opens with fresh, delicate flavours of lovely tart red fruits and citrus, underscored by a subtle iodine note.

The palate is juicy and caressing, its texture finely etched by a zesty freshness. It reveals roundness with a light tannic edge and a savoury softness. The finish heightens this sensation of saline freshness characteristic of the northern slopes of Verzy.

“ This champagne possesses a quiet power and mineral energy rarely found in other champagnes. ”
Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon,
Cellar Master

Ageing potential

Our champagnes undergo an extended period of ageing to allow them to gently evolve and mature, gaining in structure and depth, whilst developing highly nuanced aromas over the years.

You may enjoy them in the purity and chalky freshness of their youth or, if you appreciate more mature champagnes, wait a few more years or even decades for their candied, spicy notes to emerge. Our champagnes have a long future ahead of them and their destiny is in your hands!
