Dosage
The 2016 vintage was characterised by particularly marked weather variations: spring was cool, wet and relatively late whereas summer was warm and dry with a heatwave in late August followed by dry and sunny weather over the harvest period which was highly beneficial to the ripening of the grapes.
Our Pinot noirs thrived in these dry, sunny conditions and the heat has given them an intensely fruity character and silky smooth texture. The Chardonnays are just as outstanding although more chiselled and saline in character.
Tasting notes
This particularly well-rounded champagne boasts lovely crisp fruit and a creamy smoothness.
On the first nose, notes of sweet fruit, candied citrus and dried nuts are interwoven within a fine mineral bouquet. The generous and complex structure continues in this same juicy, creamy register, with expressive fruit and mineral overtones and spicy and oaky notes that carry through to a long saline finish.

Ageing potential
Our champagnes undergo an extended period of ageing to allow them to gently evolve and mature, gaining in structure and depth, whilst developing highly nuanced aromas over the years.
You may enjoy them in the purity and chalky freshness of their youth or, if you appreciate more mature champagnes, wait a few more years or even decades for their candied, spicy notes to emerge. Our champagnes have a long future ahead of them and their destiny is in your hands!
